To the Honorable Mayor & Common
Council of the City of Seattle
Gentlemen:-
We, your petitioners
respectfully request from you a
revision of the City tax on Grace
Hospital for the year ending March
1st, 1890.
Our reasons for the petition are as follows,
1st the Hospital is a charitable institution
open for the reception of patients of all
nationalities and creed.
2nd A certain number of beds are consistantly
set aside as free beds, from which
no income is derived for the Hospital
3rd This is not a money making institu-
tion the receipts being devoted to
running expenses and improvements
on the hospital
4th It is self sustaining receiving
no income from outside sources
and depending alone onthat from
the patients, whichat times is
an uncertain, and unreliable element.
In view ofthese facts we pray
for the grainting of this petition.
