To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council of the
City of Seattle.
Gentlemen-
We, the Trustees of Seattle Lodge No 7 IOOF
ask you honorable body to grant us a rebate on taxes
for the year 1884 on the Lodge property known as
Fractional Block 5 of Mercer's Addition to North Seattle
The land was given in to the assessors last year as a
fractional block, or little less than two full lots.
The assessment shows that it was assessed as a full
block of eight lots, at $250 per lot, in all $2000. We
are willing to pay on two lots, or $500, but think
we ought to be reimbursed for the taxes paid on
the other $1500, which would amount to $6.75.
Hoping that you will give our petition a favor-
able consideration, we remain,
