H. Jones requested that the City purchase a water main from him. He had been supplying water to residents but didn't have enough water to supply all the applicants he had. The Committee on Fire and Water recommended that the petition be rejected because the pipe would have been of little use to the City and the purchase would have set a bad precedent for the City's relations with other water plant owners.
