To the Honorable the Mayor Council and Board of Alderman of th City
of Seattle State of Washington.

We the undersigned Citizens and tax payers of Seattle respectfully
represent,

That Ordinance No. 1522 of said City is oppressive exorbitant and
unjust on allparties [sic] who wish to take out license for the first time and
give entertainments in public places where intoxicating liquors are
disposed of,

That the Ordinance is in the interest of one or two persons who
have already paid their licenses for a year in advance and its effect
is to give them a monopoly and shut competitors out,

We therefore respectfully pray for the repeal of said Ordinance
and the passage of a just and equitable one effecting all parties
equally in its place.

And as in duty bound your Petitioners will ever pray &c.
