To the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Seattle:-

The undersigned, your petitioners, respectfully represent:-

That they are all and each of them citizens of the City of Seattle,
County of King and State of Washington

That the extension of the license limits beyond the limits es-
tablished by the Common Council of the City of Seattle on the Fourth
day of October 1889, would be of great and serious detriment to those
parts of the City of Seattle which would be by such and extension includ-
ed license limits.

That the limits proposed by the ordinance entitles "An Ordinence
Establishing a Saloon Limit within the City of Seattle within which
Limit Licenses for the sale of Intoxicating Liquors may be Granted
Pursuant to the Charter of the City of Seattle" now pending before the
Honorable House of Delegates to whom this petition is here with pres-
ented include upon Yesler and Third Street and other streets local-
ities of said City of Seattle devoted to largely and in part wholly to
uses for residence purposes and also includes several of the leading
churches in said City of Seattle.

That the passage of said Ordinance by the City Council will be
Detrimental to the good order and quiet of said Streets and a great
injury to the residence upon said Streets and to the people of Seattle
as a whole.
