To the Mayor and City Council of the City of Seattle
Greeting:
Whereas there is now being printed and circulated in this city an certain paper known and designated as the Sunday Breeze Mercury, and also a certain other paper known and designated as the Sunday Sun: and
Whereas, these papers do smirch the character of our citizens and corrupt the moral of our youth; and
Whereas certain of our sister cities, deeming such publications unfit to be read by their citizens, have prohibited their circulation within the corporate limits of such cities;
Therefore, we, the undrsigned, most respectfully petition your Honorable Sir and Body to take such action as will effectulally stop the publication and distribution of said papers in our own fair city.
