Seattle, May 11th , 1893
Honorable Board of Public Works City of Seattle
Gentlemen:-
We beg to call your attention to the very unsafe condition of the Roadway at the Foot of Norman Street.
The Piling upon which this Road rests is also used by the City to support the Water Mains, and in the present condition, the Main is liable to fall in the Bay at any moment thus cutting off the supply of water to a large number of manufacturers.
We also represent that we are Taxpayers, and doing business in the City of Seattle, and feel that we should be provided with means of Egress and Ingress to, and from, our property.
The Road referred to, is a Public Street, and while it was constructed at private expense, we feel that the City should now repair, and keep it in such order, that we can reach our places of business in safety.
We trust your Honorable body will consider this matter favorably, and repair the Road without unnecessary delay.
Very respectfully submitted,
Moran Brothers Co., Robert Moran Allen & Nelson P V Dyer [& Bro?] [Jours?] & King [As?] Kerry Mill Seattle Dry Dock & [?] Mechanics Mill and Lumber Co. By A W Conant, secy. & Treas. Chas Schuster & Co Howard V Bryant C [S Hunfuer?] secy
