To the Hon the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle We the undersigned residing in the City of Seattle and in that portion of said City in the vacinity of Broadway and Madison Streets would most repectfully represent that what is known as the old John Nagle ranch is a nuisance to the residents of that portion of the City that large numbers of live stock consisting of 18 beeves and hogs are slaughtered on said ranch every few days and the offal therefrom is allowed to thence remain and become putrid also that the carcasses of dead animals are permitted to decay unburied Causing a nauseating stench to arise therefrom which is dangerous to the residents thereabouts Your petitioners therefore pray that your Honorable Body take such action in the matter as that You may seem proper and that said nuiisance be abated and removed for which your petitioners will ever pray.
