SEC. 2. -- All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances
in conflict with any of the provisions of this Ordinance
be and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. -- This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force five days after it has been published.

ORDINANCE NO. 186.
AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE PREVENTION OF FIRES AND
THE PROTECTION OF PROPERTY ENDANGERED THEREBY.
Approved Aug. 8, 1879.

The City of Seattle does ordain as follows, to-wit: [italics]

SECTION 1. -- As amended by Ordinance No. 199.
All buildings hereafter erected within the said fire
limits, except manufacturing establishments, livery-
stables, ware-houses, carpenter shops and blacksmith
shops, shall be lathed and plastered with good lime
mortar on all ceilings, inside walls and partitions; and
all roofs of all buildings hereafter erected within said
fire limits, shall be covered with good shingles or tin,
and shall be painted with good fire-proof paint. The
term building, as used in this section, shall not include
privies.

SEC. 2. -- All repairs to buildings constructed of
other combustible material, shall be made to
to this Ordinance.
