And now the Council proceeds to consider the matter of
the acceptance of the Engine House Constructed under Ordi=
=nance No. 285; By E.W. Rea Thereupon the Council after deducting the
following items accept the building; Towit: 2 in(ch) plank
in sidewalk instead of 3 in(ch) $10.00; Door sill in Council
Chamber $2.50 Rehanging doors in Engine Room $5.00
Plastering $55.00 Painting $150.00 Total $222.50

Ordered that the Balance due the contractor E.W. Rea
for constructing said Engine House after deducting said sum
of $222.50 be paid said Contractor by Warrant on
City Fund.

And now said E.W. Rea Contractor presents a claim
for Extra Work on said Engine House amounting to
$716.00 thereupon it is Ordered that the said claim be
Provided if said arbitration shall [request?] said claim the said E.W. Rea shall pay the
costs of arbitration
referred to 3 Arbitrations, Towit: One To be appointed by
the Council; One to be appointed by said Contractor &
the two so appointed to select a third arbitrator.

ordered that Henry [Goruley?] be & is appointed such
Arbitrator on behalf of the City.

E.W. Rea Balance due in Contract Engine House No. $1533.75
E.W. Rea Extra Work same $127.00

Petitions are received from Chin Guan & Charlie &
Wa Chong & Co for the right to use Fire Crackers between
Feb. 6 & 12th. Laid on the Table

A petition is received from McDaniel Bros for the
right to grade Madison Street between 3rd & 4th Streets.
Laid on the Table

Ordered that the vote of assessment in order to provide
funds to pay for the Sidewalks constructed on Seneca
Street under Ordinance No. 336 be & is hereby fixed
in the sum of 7 [nickels?] on the dollar

The Surveyor Submits Specifications and estimates
for a Stone Wall fronting Blocks "L" and "A" on Front
Street Laid over

Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until
