COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE

Jan 4/89 Be it remembered that on this the 4th day of January 1884 the
Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber
pursuant to law.

The following Officers are present, towit: His Honor the Mayor
H.G. Struve and Councilmen Thomas Clancy, B.F. Day, Charles
McDonald
, U. M. Rasin, Otto Ranke and F.W. Wusthoff.

Thereupon the following proceedings are had:
Petitions Received
From M.P. Church for draining surface water and building crossing.
Referred to Street Committee.
From Patrick Flynn et al for the removal of obstructions by
south side of Washington Street between Commercial and 2d. Referred
to Street Committee.
From Chas Benson for compensation for damages caused by
blasting on Madison Street. Referred to Judiciary Committee.
From W.C. Hawthorne et al for a gas lamp corner Union and
6th. Granted.
From Seattle Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 for a room in which
hold Company meetings. Granted.
From Geo. F. Gilson et al for changing grade on Battery Street.
Referred to Street Committee.
From A.C. Baker for compensation for sidewalk built on Columbia
Street

be and they are hereby instructed to make immediate examination of
the matter.
