Adopted And now inaccordance with law the Council proceeds to select the members of the Board of Registration for the term provided by law. Whereupon an election is held and the following named persons receiving a majority of all the votes of the Councilmen present are duly declared elected for the term provided by law. First Ward D R McKinlay Second Ward A Slorah Third Ward Frank Seidel Ordered that the clerk be & is hereby instructed to have printed 1000 copies of extracts from the law relating to the Registration of Voters. Ordered athat the Street Commission be & is hereby instructed to repair and raise sidewalk on Front Street fronting Clayton Building Ordered that a sidewalk be built on North side of Columbia Street from Front Street to Alley east of Front Street within 10 days after notice given or the same will be built by Special Assessment Ordered that the Clerk be & is hereby instructed to deliver a Warrant for $200.00 on Madison Street Grade to Frahn & Simpson upon filing a proper bond to remove a certain rock. Ordered that the Judiciary Comtee be & they are hereby instructed to submit an Ordinance at next meeting to provide for exempting certain parties from the obligation of the Ordinance regulating the erection of brick buildings Ordinances AnOrdinance is submitted entitled "An ordinance eto prevent certain animals for running at large" after due consideration said Ordinance is adopted upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption Clancy, Day, Harris, McDonald, Northrup, Ranke, Rasin & Wusthoff Against adoption none.

469 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE May 2/84 Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Wednesday May 7, 1884 at 8 o'clock pm Attest: E S Osborne clerk Approved U M Rasin acting mayor On this 2d day ofMay 1884 immediatly after adjournment as above the Council meets pursuant to call of His Honor the Mayor Present: His Honor the Mayor H G Struve & Councilmen Thos Clancy, B F Day, Geo W Harris, Chas McDonald, B L Northrup, Otto Ranke, U M Rasin & F W Wusthoff And now the Council proceeds to open & Consider the bids for the Construction of a sewer in Washington Street which bids read as follows: to wit: S G Simpson per foot $4.10 footings per MBM [thousand board feet] $17.50 Wm Harkins per foot $4.20 footings per MBM [thousand board feet] $19.00

Ordered that the contract be awarded to S G Sipson upon his executing a bond in the sum of $2500.00 And now the Council proceeds to open and consider the bids for the construction of sewers in Mill & James Streets, which bids read as follows, to wit: Wm Harkins $3300. S G Simpson $3445. Ordered that the contract be awarded to Wm Harkins]] upon his executing a bond in the sum of $2000.00 Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned.
