21 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE and correctedl which after due consideration bythe council is adopted by the following vote viz: In favor of same R H Calligan, J Furth,G W Hall, T W Lake, Chas McDonald and G W Young, Against none. An Ordinance is submitted by the Clerk entitled "A Special Ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills"; which is adopted by the following vote: In favor of same Calligan, Furth, Hall, Lake, McDonald and Young, Against none. Ordered that the Council do now adjourn H L Yesler mayor Attest W R Forrest clerk Jun 4 1886 Be it remembered that on this 4th day of June 1886 the Common Council of theCity of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to law the following officers being present to wit: His Honor the Mayor H L Yesler and Councilmen R H Calligan, J Furth,G W Hall, W A Harrington T W Lake, Chas McDonald, J J Post and G W Young The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved Petition etc received Petition of A L Palmer et al for fire plug cor of 3rd and Leonora Streets read and referred to Com of Fire & Water Petition of G F Gilson praying that a drain ditch be constructed so as to prevent an overflow of water on the East 1/2 of Block 25 Bell & Denny's addition owned by petitioner, read and referrd to committee onSewers and Drainage. Petition of Allmond &Phillips for permission to erect a small wooden building adjoining their Foundry building read and on motion granted.

Report of City Treasurer for May, read and referred to Finance Com and returned Approved Report and Pay Roll of the Street Commissioner for month of May read and referred to Street Com. and approved Committee Reports Received From Committee on Fire And Water returning the petition of G C Manning et al praying for a fire plug at the Corner of Block 2 Bell & Dennys Addition reproting that the Spring Hill Water Co would not lay the pipe unless paid the sum of $300.00 to partially defray the expense and recommending that the petitions be granted. On motion the report and recommendation of the Committee rejected. From Committee on License and Revenue recommending that the petition of L Diller et al praying that the Hotel Runners License be abolished be not granted. adopted From same commmittee recommending that the license of Bersch and Hink for the sale of Intox liquor by retail be transfered to Jacob Bersch upon his filing a new bond. 25 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jun 1886 Miscellaneous On motion of Councilman Hall it is declared the sense of the Council that the Beach Road be built On motion the Clerk opened and reads the bids submitted to the Finance Committee for the purchase of $20,000. of City Bonds to be issued for the purpose of building the Beach Road as follows to wit: Bid of E B Downing & Co offering to take all of said bonds at a premiun of seven and three one hundredths per cent {7.3%}. Bid for First National Bank of Seattle offering to purchase all of said bonds at a premium of Four and one quarter per cent {4.25%} On motion both bids are referred to the Finance Committee to be reported upon at the next regular meeting. On motion the plans and specifications of the Beach Road are referred back to the City Surveyor for certain alterations Ordinances The City Atty submits an ordinance entitled "An ordinance authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to execute certain deed" which after due consideration by the council is adopted and passed by the following vote: In favor of said ordinance Messer's Calligan, Furth, Hall, Harrington, Lake, McDonald, Post and Young. Against none The City Atty submits an ordinance entitled "An ordinance authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to execute a cettain contract" passed by the following vote viz: In favorof said ordinance Furth, Hall, Calligan, Harrington,Lake, McDonald, Post and Young. Against none The City Atty submits an ordinance entitled "An ordinance fixing the time for the regular meetings of the Common Council of the City of Seattle"which after due consideration is passed by the following vote to wit: In favor of said ordinance
