On motion of Councilman Furth it is ordered that the part of the Mayor's message in regard to Street Lights be made the special order of business for the next regular meeting of the Council. Ordinances An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance authorizing the transfer of the sum of $12,000 from the City Fund to the Road fund of the City of Seattle" which is passed by the following vote: In favor of the same Furth, Green, Hinckley, Lake, Russell & Reitze Against None. An Ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An Ordinance Granting to the Seattle Lake Shore and Eastern Rail Road Company the right and authority to construct maintian and operate a single or Double Track Railroad along the Front of the City of Seattle" which is passed by the following vote: In favor of the same Furth, Green, Hinckley, Lake, Russell & Reitze Against None. 139 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jan 7 1887 is passed by the following vote viz: In favor of the same Furth, Green, Hinckley, Lake, Russell & Reitze Against None. Ordered that the Council do now adjourn W H Shoudy mayor Attest W R Forrest clerk Jan 21 1887 Be it remembered that on this 21st day of Jany 1887 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to law. From Gordon Hardware Co for permission to carry stock of 100 pounds of powder in their store on Front Street and same quantity in their warehouse on [Gliman's Wharf]] granted. From Hardy & Hall for permission to store one hundred pounds of powder in their store on Front Street Granted on condition that petitioners keep a sign conspicuously displayed to the effect that they are licensed to carry powder.
