259 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Aug 10 1887 Ordered that Ching Ching Hock be reduced on personal property from $21,520 to $3520 the same being of Street Improvements script which is non-assessable: Also reduced on Improvements of Lot 8 Block 67 Central from $500 to $100 Ordered that the West 1/2 of Lots 1 & 2 all of Lot 5 & South 50 feet of Lot 6 Block 66 Central Central Addition be assessed to Ching Ching Hock; Lots 7 & 8 B 30 Maynard's to be stricken from Iasbella Tellons assessment & the W 1/2 of lots 1 & 2 from Mary S Steeles assessment. Ordered that Lot 1 Block 15 Boren's be assessed to D B Jackson and stricken for P H Lewis's assessment and that Lot 5 Block 15 Central be assessed to Margaret Baker & Bill Kimball and strike the same for P H Lewis's Ordered that Lot 9 Block 19 A A Denny's and frac. Block 7 Denny & Bell be assessed to P H Lewis and that Lot 9 be stricken from Annie L Ebby's asst & frac. Block 7 from A A Bell's Assest. Ordered that the East 1/4 of Lots 1& 2 Block 30 Maynard's be assessed to Mary Steele and 1/4 of same lots to J W Van Brocklein instead of all to Mary D Steele reduce imp from $1300 to $300. Ordered that lot Block 40 Boren's be assessed to J W Van Brockleinand strike same from Elizabeth Hays assessment. Ordered that Blocks 27 & 28 and Frac Block 29 also lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10 in Block 1 Yesler & McGilvra's addition be assessed to Emily McGilvra and stricken

Ordered that Emily M McGilvera be reduced personal property form $3300. to $2000 acct mortgages wrongfulls assessed. Ordered that J J McGilvera be reduced on personal property from $1635 to $100. Ordered that the Council do now adjourn until Friday August 12th 1887 at 7:30 o'clock PM Approved J Furth acting mayor Attest W R Forrest clerk Aug 12 1887 Be it remembered that on this 12th day of Aug 1887 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment The following officers are present to wit: Acting Mayor J Furth and Councilmen Frink, Moran, Neisz,Russell & Reitze and W R Forrest Clerk. The following proceedings are had to wit: The Council continues with the examination and equalization of the Assessment Roll for the year 1887 and the Following changes are made. Ordered that Thomas C Van Nuys be reduced on Block 21 Maynard's from $9100 t0 $4000. Ordered that James W Smith be reduced on personal property {Bijou Theater} from $3000 to $1500 Ordered that D H Gilman be reduced on personal property $5439.25 acct mortgages improperly assessed.
