Sir,

Notice having been received from the Surgeon General of Pennsyslvania, of the assignment of Francis B. Davidson formerly assistant Surgeon in 2nd Pennsylvania Cav. as Surgeon of this regiment. We the undersigned officers of the 45th Regiment Penna Vet Vols. respectfully and most earnestly protest against such assignment as unjust to Asst. Surg. C.E. Iddings who is now the only medical Officer with the regiment and is performing all the duties of his office to the entire satisfaction of both officers and men of this command.

He would also respectfully request that Asst Surg. C.E. Iddings be appointed Surgeon of the regiment. believing him to be justly entitled to such promotion. Forth from professional abilitiy and the estimation in which he is held by us as an officer and a gentleman

When it became necessary for the w. [?] to enter the [?] [?] Olney district [?] not [?] in offering the [?] of her [?]. By the fifteenth of April 1917 [?] Marshall had [?] - On May 15, [?]

John Hall Janney was already [working?] with the Medical Corps of the British Army.

Henry H Marsden gave up his charge at St John's Church, Olney, and took up his duties as Chaplain. [in?] 148 F.A.

Mahlon Kirk and Ulric Hutton entered the [Formal?] Officers Training Camp. [illegible]

sent to Italy (in August 1917-) where he did great work with forestry machines. He was wounded in action - awarded a Caproni Medal and an Italian War [?] Edgar Robree entered the ranks of Montgomery County's Company K. with whom he fought until obliged to return from [?] having been gassed. Early in Septembre the Draft began calling the boys from all parts of the District. [?] inall we found ninety-nine on our Honor Roll - as follows: But me of the number has[?] called report the make the [?]
