Left page Ther: 65 degrees Cloudy and Clearing--Wind Variable Oct 2nd Friday Willie went to work with [Fheizeen] again at Farquhar's. Afternoon I drove to Chas Hills to see about Willies getting his horse tomorrow to get apples from Carr's place. Frank Robeson went with me. [Attn:] Hannah Agent for a Saratoga N.Y. Drug and Pill House. I ordered a few pills amounting to $1.50. And I ordered considerably more amounting to about $5.00. After supper. Charley, Dora & Willie went to "Olney Lodge" in the ["phoetou"]

Right page Ther. 63 degrees Clear--Wind N.W. Oct 3rd Saturday Willie started over to Sam J. Lee's expecting to go to Carr's place for apples. I drove to John Bowen's to Rev. Brook's & Chas Hammond's Old "Fritz" fell down on the road below Ashten & I had quite a time getting him up again, "Phil" was with me. Remus Hill and Rev. Brooks helped me. I also called at Bulwar's.

Left page Ther. 61 degrees Clear Wind Variable Oct 4th Sunday Bro: R called on way to meeting. Afternoon Alice & Fanny Peirce came over & Dora. Willie & Edward went with them over to Riverside to spend the afternoon and evening. They came home after dark. I loaned them "Fritz" & they drove him to the road cart. Caroline Edwards and her daughter were here after dark. Right page Ther 60 degrees Clear & Cloudy Wind N.W. Oct 5th Monday Clear & moderately warm early this morning, but, the wind began to blow strong from the N.W. towards noon & it clouded over, much cooler. Willie went to Riverside (early) to help his uncle Chas: put a roof on their chicken house. Mrs: Eliza B Moore brought a servent woman whilst we were at breakfast & I extrracted a tooth for her. I came home from Glenwood about noon, and after supper went back again "to help them can tomatoes & corn" tomorrow. Willie came home after dark from Riverside.

Left page Ther 43 Clear & Cloudy Wind N.W. & N.E. Oct 6th Tuesday Very cool and chilly this morning, & indeed all day. I drove down to Ashton. Afternoon I worked at the ceiling in the extended part of the kitchen. Eleanora Bell washed for H. Rodney Boswell's wagon brought us a barrel of corn "on the ear" on C's account. Lizzie...I called on her way to Roger Fairquliars to "Horticultural Meeting: leaving their open buggy here Willie went with her in my phaeton driving Bro: R's horse and will call on their return to change back & W will go home with her.

Right page Ther: 55 Cloudy & Rain Wind N.E. Oct 7th Wednesday Commenced raining about midnight last, & has been falling at intervals ever since. Mrs Edward Gelpin called on herwas to meeting & paid me $1.00 for her sister-in-law ((from Texas) Willie came home from Riverside about 10-30 a.m. bringing my phaeton. Mrs: R Rattoone Jr. sent for advice & medicine. Afternoon 2-45 Willie Dora & Mary Wilson left here in Bulwan's "dayton" & Wilson's horse, to go to "Mumcaster's" supper. Bro Chas man (Root: Johnson) came and took their horse "Bettie" home and also their buggy. It rained steadily, from about the time Willie and the girls left here until bed time. Charles and Ida came about 4-clk from Glenwood. Some medicines, granules, pills triturates [_e] ordered through Ms Hannah. of the G.F. Harvey Co: Saratoga N.Y. arrived today by mail. Luther Mumcaster came home with the young folks, all of them taking tea with us.
