68° Ther. Monday AUG 27,th 1894 N.E. Wind

Looks & feels like more rain. I rode
to Ashton on horseback. Went to the mill
for horse feed. Afternoon Edwd P. Thomas
was here to see about our insurance &
added my horse carriages & harness to
the articles insured. Edwd took Frank
Robison to "Highland" to a base ball match
game between the Sandy Spring & Highland
clubs or "teams." which resulted in a
score of 6 to 10 in favor of Sandy Spring
E got home after dark.

Ther. Tuesday28th S.W Wind

Still cloudy & threatening rain but it
does not come. Colored girl ___ Thomas
who is child's nurse for Mgt Moore was here
for advice & medicine. Chas. Disney from
"Highland" was also here & had tooth extracted.
Mariana Stabler brought Sister
Harriet from "The Cottage" & left her here
before dinner time. "Carrie" Hopkins
washed for Harriet. Herbert came after
dinner. Towards evening Mrs M Wm Kirk
& her daughter came for Sister Harriet
to spend a day or two at "Fair Hill." Herbert
went on his bi cycle.

Ther. 68° Wednesday AUG. 29, th 1894 N.E.Wind

I was annoied with a noisy neighbor
last night (or rather after midnight last
caused by too much ____ I hope it may be
the last time, as it was the first.
I took H over to "Homewood" to see the
cousins before they leave for Alexandria
where they expect to spend the winter. I
left her there until I returned from
Brighton, we came home to dinner.
Afternoon Herbert came from "[Frier?] Hill"
before supper.

Foggy & Cloudy
Ther. 70° Thursday, 30th S.E.Wind

Herbert rode to Riverside on his
bicycle before dinner. I fished a milk
bucket out of the well, put a new hinge
on office porch window shutter & took
down "Old Fritz"s hitching chain from
the oak tree in front of office. Lizzie Scott
called. Sarah Stabler took Sister Harriet
to "the Association" or "Old Ladies Club"
which met at Miss Martha Holland's.
Herbert returned from Riverside. Edwd
took Frank Robison to P. T. Stabler's for
flour & went on to Riverside, home to supper.
After tea Herbert & I walked up to store.
