Ther. SUN. MAY 14th, 1899. Wind.
This has been a beautiful
spring day. I went to meeting.
Sarah Miller made a few
remarks. Afternoon Willie
Fanny & baby came & staid until
after supper. Quite a disgraceful
lot of colored men & boys
collected about the smith shop
about sunset & got up a horse
race
: after which they came
near having a fight. Such
scenes are truly disgraceful,
and tends to injure our village.
I wrote again to Thos. H Borden.
