Rock Spring . August 6 h 1881 , The Enterprise
Club met at the residence of Roger Farquhar
ten members only being present, Thos. J. Lea
Samuel Hopkins , Wm. S Brooke , Wm S. Bond ,
J. T. Moore and W. W. Moore were absent but their
places were well filled ,( especially at the table ) by a
strong delegation from the Montgomery Club, [Eiz?],
Chas. F. [Hinke?] , R. H. Miller , H. H. Miller and
Chas. Farquhar. We were very glad to have them
with us on this ocasion , They seemed to enjoy
a good meal so much. Chas. H. Brooke was appointed
Foreman and the Sec. not being on time
Arthur Stabler was named to take his place.
but he seemed more than willing to transfer
the responsibility & the pencil to the regular Sec. when he
put in an appearance . We first visited the
Large garden which showed the ability to
[furnish?] a liberal supply of vegetables . The
empty ice- house brought out a lively discussion
about ice - houses in general. A combination farmShop
was in course of construction . The large
barn was well-filled and the stables had been
cleaned out and littered with bright straw .
There were several hay houses in different parts
of the farm that seemed to be filled to their
utmost . The Questions were as follows ---
1 _ Shall I sell hay now at 60 cts or hold
till winter ? Ten say hold it , one says , sell .
2. Would you work potatoes just coming into
bloom ,the ground being mellow and free from
weds ? The majority would let them alone.

On line 1, the # '98' is stamped in the color charcoal grey on the upper left-hand corner of the page.
In line 2, after the underlined superscript, there are two half-sized ones, '11', that have a 1 o'clock to 7 o'clock orientation.
In nearly every line, this writer uses extra spaces between words. I was not sure how to handle this.
I decided to try to space as the writer did. Of course, I have no tools to do this exactly, so as a rule,
anything that appeared to be up to 1 1/2 spaces was counted as 1 space, anything that was up to 2 1/2 spaces were counted as 2 spaces, and anything that was up to 3 1/2 spaces were counted as 3 spaces.
