Tom Hyde was advised to sell his corn in August and his lambs when they weighed from 80 to 100 pounds.

The Club did not think it would pay William Moore to insure his apple crop against hail; but they did think his lambs would improve, if fed in addition to what the yews could furnish them on "new ground" pasture.

Maurice Stabler commented on the very satisfactory manner in which the local Fire Insurance Company adjusted a loss for him.

Adjourned to meet with Newton Stabler in June. June 19th.

June 19th, 1926.

The June meeting of the Enterprise Club was entertained by Newton Stabler on June 19, 1926. This was the Club's 731st meeting. The active members not present included T. B. Stabler, Dr. Christie, C. L. Gilpin, S. P. Thomas, Francis Thomas, M. J. Stabler and Harwood Owings.

The guests of the evening were: M. O. Stabler, Lawrence Stabler, J. W. Jones, F. L. Thomas, C. F. Brooke, William Thomas, Tarlton Brooke, Mr Pool, Mr. Beall and Dr. Brightwell.

Our chairman being absent, William Moore was asked to take his place. The usual "Walk" was taken with T. L. Jackson as foreman.

The apple orchard, the garden, truck patch and timothy field were visited; a good prospect for apples, a wonderful field of timothy hay (for this year), an asparagus bed with no weeds in sight, and a very fine looking young peach orchard besides a well filled and well kept garden were some of the Secretary's notes as to said "Walk."

After a delicious supper, including home grown lamb and strawberries, business was resumed.

As per custom, the "old" and last minutes were read, the latter approved.

This being Election night we proceeded to elect a chairman and secretary for the ensuing year.

Our Chairman who has so faithfully filled the position for several yeards, was among those absent; taking advantage of this fact it was an easy job to re-elect him unanimously. Had the Secretary been absent, I am sure they would have elected some one else, but the tellers reported he was re-elected by a very small majority and a very large protest.

C. E. Bond and Rust Canby were asked to collect the yearly dues of $1.00 per member.

Crop Prices:

Wheat --- $1.59 bu. Potatoes --- $3.00 bu.

Corn ----- $3.50 bbl. Hogs ----- $0.15½ lb.

Hay -------$26.00-$27.00 T. Beef Cattle $0.09½-$0.10¼ lb.

Questions:

Newton Stabler asked if any one knew of a two-horse wagon he could purchase. Mr. Crum at Spencerville has one.

Asa M. Stabler again called attention of the Club to raising more alfalfa. The subject was discussed at length; leaving the impression that we should grow more of this variety of clover and it could be done by using more lime, innoculated seed and a thorough cultivation of the soil.

M. O. Stabler purchased a sow last fall for $35.00, she now has nine pigs for which he is offered $10.00 apiece and the sow weighs 400 pounds. He asked which would pay best sell now or feed the pigs and sell them next fall. The Club thought his net result would be greater if he sold now.

George Wilson was told that the timothy on the field in front of Sunnyside, was sown in September three years ago,

William Thomas wants a veal calf. July first, Clarles Brook can supply him.

J. W. Jones wants to buy twelve or fifteen Durock or Berkshire sows. None for sale among those present.

Robert Miller asked if anyone knew of a purchaser for his apple crop. He was referred to Jesse Brown or Albert Stabler & Sons.

F. L. Thomas was told that it was the Club's opinion that the patrons of the Annual Hospital Supper, would rather pay $1.00 for the supper and get a little more chicken and more uniform servings than $0.75 as heretofore.

B. H. Miller has sold some sod which is to be taken off a field just before plowing for corn. He asked what damage the loss of sod would do to the corn crop. It was thought by several the corn would be reduced about two barrels per acre.

Thus ended a very pleasant meeting. We adjourned subject to Secretary's call in July.

The guests included [Messrs?] Joey Shaw, R. R. Moore, J. W. Jones, and [?] T. J. Lea

Our usual walk led us around the garden + well kept grounds of this fine suburban home, which will soon be entirely surrounded by Washington City.

On calling the meeting together, after an unusually good club supper, the [?] were [serenaded?] with the reading of a little poem B. H. Miller. There being no further
