Take a 42 gal. barrel - fill with water.
In it suspend an old bag containing 2 pks.
of [hen?]-house manure to the barrel of water,
or if horse or cow manure, 2½ pks. to a
barrel of water. This manure is especially
good for roses, apply each of the three
kinds separately, oneeach [?], hoe lighly
& keep soil broken.

The seven [lamps?] of agriculture are, manure,
lime, bome-meal, leaf, mold, water, cultivation
& common sense."

The Assist. Sec. handed in a good list of
specimens - & a large collction of flowers.
When we inspected these later, we saw
great pains had been taken by some
who brought samples of their growing plants.

Corrie Brooke was asked to give a report of
her asparagus bed that was cut off in Aug.
of last year, as there were so many weeds.
She had top-dressed heavily, & this year
she has the best bed ever.

A volunteer article was read by Alice Farquhar,
the subject of which was grass.
A high tribute was paid to the beautiful
green grass which we see all around us,
and yet so often fail to appreciate. Let
