The oath begins, "Camp near Bacon Creek, Ky. Sept. 22, 1862..." An unknown individual [Louis M. B?} was a witness and the parole was approved by Major General Thomas Leonidas Crittenden.

"B" 3rd Fla Infty a prisoner of War do solemnly swear that I will not bear arms against the United States of America or give aid or comfort to her enemies in any way or form whatever, until regularly exchanged.
