On the door of a study :-
With each return of spring the present
conquers the past,
For those who have experienced the Gospel
the old is changed to the new.

What in nature is more beautiful than
spring clouds, summer rains, or an
autumn moon?
What in literature is more sublime than
T'ang dynasty verse, Chin dynasty
hand-writing, and Han dynasty essays.

On a garden gate:
The flaming plum tree is a harbinger
of spring.
So also is the oriole's velvety note.

On the door of an inn:
If the keeper is honest he can be
entrusted with untold wealth
If the traveler is kind-hearted he can
accomplish measureless journeys.

On theatre stand (on man)
天下事無非是戲
世間人何滇認真

All the world's a play
Why should we take things seriously
