" Cortez and Garfias roomed together at Encina. Cortez
took engineering, returned to Mexico where he became a
"Jefe Politico". He got caught in a revolution and returned
to U.S. He was with Shell Oil Co. and lived as a neighbor
to us in Martinez. There were several children, the daughter
Elena was the oldest, a small child at that time.
Cortez Ortigoso, as he was known in Martinez, died some years
ago. Garfias sent us a book he had written and several
Christmas cards. Garfias is dead now".

you care to write him. And he may have the book!

thank you for "plugging"my book. I shall send the Editor
a copy for review.

hear more about the incident as time marches on.

With all good wishes and highest regards I am,

Sincerely,
