Mon. 19 March

Dear Mom and Dad,

I am in Nice now. Last Thursday we drove down to Florence. The next day we met Amy and stayed until Sunday morning. The ice cream again was great. Ice cream fortunately is included in my diet when I'm in Italy. The river Armo through Florence is real pretty. We saw alot of famous stuff like theDavid. I'm kind of arted out. We're getting along pretty well. Sunday we drove to Pisa. We've been buying all our lunches. Bob and I bought, for 1000 lira or $1.80 or so, a rubber soccer, [volley?] and beach ball. Then we flashed all the tourists at Pisa with our tremendous soccer ability. Some Italians tried to out do us but without success. I've almost used up a roll of movie film. Tha is really fun. I think its going to look like a series of flashes though - I don't use too much film at a time. Sunday night we arrived here and found a real cheap place to stay - $1.60. Today we went to a scenic spot and ate lunch looking at the Med. Then we drove around in search of a beach. Not much beach-wise but all beautiful. We went to Monaco - Monte Carlo and walked around, saw the Casino. Fun day. I haven't found sweetbreads yet. I will before I'm out of France. Bruce is a turkey I've definitely decided. But tolerable when I can make fun of him. Oh, in Florence I went with [a?] group and other Stanford people we met, to a night club like place. I danced with an Italian! Who who! as Francie Jr. would say. I drank wine tonight with dinner. I still don't like it but I can drink it - it's cheaper than anything else. I'm turning into a [lush?]
