Dear Aunt Betty,

Its a happy birthday to you its a happy birthday to you
its a happy birthday dear Aunt Betty its a happy birthday to you.
"What do you spose it is?" You will have to wait till I come
home for your present (or until I get one, which ever's first).
I'm late already - sorry. I got your letter today -
with your present to me. Thank you very much.
I think you know what it will be spent on: ris du veau,
e oeffs au vin rouge [(or?)] etc. I will give full details
when I indulge. You were kind of extravagent - so
the meal may have to be stretched over a period of time.
Thanks alot.

I hear the Giants are still doing really well. I wonder
about the Warriors. You did said they beat Bucks in 6. Wow!
I never thought Mom and Dad were serious about getting
a house. Jeez Louise. Sounds nice, but we already have
a real nice one. Was denkst du? O que piensas tu? I am
multi-lingual now.

I really enjoy hearing about Francie Jr. and Katie & Tony.
I miss them. I think I'll write Francie a letter - I should
have for Easter. I am determined to have an Easter egg
hunt here tomorrow - I bought chocolate eggs already.
I hope you had a nice one w/ good food.

Today I got back from a week + in Berlin on a field
trip. It was really interesting. I took about 4 pictures of
the wall. (I've taken about 20 altogether) It was amazing.
You can look over the wall from a platform on the west
side and see the mine field - wire and everything - then
theres a street with people & cars. Really [eerie] to think
they can't cross. The whole city is fascinating, about the]
allies still occupying it and how the wall went up
& who can cross. I went into East Berlin 3 times.
The change is very noticeable - we had a tour thru
East Berlin (for instance) & the lady pointed out a half-destroyed
