S. F. Leib

Judge Samuel Franklin Leib (1848-1924) received his Law degree from the University of Michigan in 1869, coming to California where he settled in San Jose. He practiced law for many years and was vice-president of the First National Bank of San Jose. He became a member of the Stanford University Board of Trustees in 1891, the first year of the university, and was President of the Board from 1899 to 1906. During 1903 he was appointed Judge of the Superior Court of Santa Clara County but soon resigned to return to private practice.
