G. W. A. LuckeyGeorge Washington Andrew Luckey (1855-1933), A.B. Education '94 Stanford; A.M. '95 Clark University (Worcester, MA); Ph.D. '00 Columbia. Dean of the Graduate School of Education at the University of Nebraska, where he joined the faculty in 1895, was forced to resign in 1918 for subjecting the University to public criticism after being cleared of charges of disloyalty to the University and the U.S. due to anti-war speeches. He later worked for the U.S. Bureau of Education in Washington, D.C. specializing in foreign educational systems. He was the author of several books on education.
