Charles Maurice Leavy (1839-1910) was a civil service commissioner in San Francisco. In 1889 he was appointed U.S. Appraiser for Merchandise in San Francisco but was removed from that office by President Benjamin Harrison in 1892 for fraud relating to undervaluing of imported silk goods. He was reappointed as a civil service commissioner in San Francisco by newly elected mayor Patrick Henry McCarthy in February 1910 and died six months later in August.
