Page Brown

Arthur Page Brown (1859-1896) was an American architect who began at a New York firm then was commissioned for works in California and moved to San Francisco. He was the architect who designed the iconic San Francisco Ferry Building, among other buildings in the Bay Area. In 1886 he married Lucy Atkinson (Pryor) Brown (1863-1952), daughter of both a justice in the New York Supreme Court and an author of Civil War memoirs. In 1896, Page Brown, as he was known, died of injuries suffered in a runaway horse and buggy accident.
