Laura Livingston McKinstry

Laura Livingston McKinstry (1875-1934) was a founder and the long-time president of the Home for Incurables, a hospital and later rehabilitation institution, in San Francisco. She was also the chairman of the house committee of the probation committee of the Juvenile Court in San Francisco. Laura was the daughter of California Supreme Court associate justice and U.C. Hastings College of the Law Principal Professor Elisha Williams McKinstry (1824-1901) and Annie Livingston (Hedges) McKinstry (1845-1917). Laura remained single and lived with her parents at 1237 O'Farrell Street in San Francisco, then later, after her father's death lived with her mother, sister and brother at 2912 Pacific Avenue in San Francisco.
