Prof. Pease

Ernest Mondell Pease (1859-1936) was a professor of Latin, first at Bowdoin College from 1886 to 1891, then as a member of the first faculty at Stanford University from 1891 until he was asked to resign by President David Starr Jordan. He submitted his resignation on May 23, 1902. He became a businessman involved in electric lighting and power transmission, moved to Washington, D.C., then New York, promoting inventions in the printing business.
