My dear Mrs. Stanford:-

I am anxious about you and your dear ones, as I read the foreign dispatches, and note the rapid spread of cholera. I hope you will come home before any quarantine laws shut you out. You are very dear to my heart. Every day Hattie and I talk of you_ and I ask the dear Lord to hide you in his pavilion.

[Lefthand side] Hattie sends her love to you - we send kindest regards to Governor Stanford.

This morning's papers chronicle the death of Judge Shafter. One by one they cross over to the other shore. We have been enjoying a blessed season of revival_ and hundreds have been brought into the Kingdom. Among them, Attorney-General [Hart]. Almost all of my large Bible Class have professed Christ. Some testify that they have been Christians for several years. Good seed sown is never lost. I am full of gratitude to God for all this. Labor on_ "for ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord"

I saw darling little Jennie a day or two since. She seemed very happy, playing with her dolls_ seven of them. The one you last gave her was her favorite she said. Your sister, whom you so dearly love, is enjoying the bliss of Heaven. How near that world seems! I feel its soft breezes, more and more. I enclose the brief of my last Sunday's Lesson_ a glorious hour _ This is a but a hint of the Lesson. Affectionately & Gratefully always .

My very dear friend -

When I wrote you from Albany I did not think your loved and only Sister would so soon passed into the "World Unseen." How very mysterious it allseems is, it is said to be "only a step" but oh! how far they seem to be but Annas eyes are now opened, she is at rest, and it may be very near the few loved ones that have

you seem very near and dear to us and we think often of you so for away. I wish I could press your hand and try to express what I feel for you in your grief. I think so often too of your dear Mother who always shared her room, and the Judson family griefs and joys together. How few families lived as they did in neighborly love. Darling Bessie and I joined Albert in Rochester three weeks ago, and

gone before. My heart is so full of sadness for you mine eyes are filled with tears when I think of you and if it were only possible would fly to you and be near you in these hours of overwhelming trouble, but our Heavenly Father will sustain you, I know He will not desert you You love Him, and He only only can give you great strength and peace. I have read of Annas long and patient sickness through Mrs.

Wheeler and Dot's letters from Mr Hewes, and when I left home, her condition I thought seemed more hopefull [sic] to him but naturally he clung as many others have to every slight symptom of relief. I wrote immediately to Mr Hewes where I heard of her death, but fear the letter passed him. I have waited to write you to learn if you were sailing home and as I have just heard that you would remain abroad until October I hasten to send you our united deepest sympathies.
