Dear Sir,

Your letter of the 18th April I beg to acknowl-
edge. In it you ask me to lend you $250 to enable you
to complete your son's education, and, while unable to
grant your request to the full extent, it gives me
pleasure to hand you herewith my cheque No. 3589 of
May 13th on the Bank of Montreal to your order, for
$100 (one hundred dollars), which can be refunded when
quite convenient for you to give it.

Believe me, with every good wish,

Very truly yours

(sgd.) Strathcona

James O'Regan Esquire.,
