I beg to apologize for address you thus, being an entire stranger, which I am well aware is entirely at variance with the rules of etiquett [sic], but trusting that you will read what I have to say, and give it your careful consideration. out of doors { ?} we need sheds for shelter also money to carry on the work and money to educate the children in the day school The school Commissioners alow [sic] the district eight months the rest of the time the pupils are learning nothing Now I hope you all not think this letter is for a selfish purpose for I donot ask your gift to be given to me but given in shuch [sic] a way as to educate the children of the Spring Road for there are some promising children and young men and women
