Mrs. Stanford,
Madam,

I have
to part with some old time
relics. It is an old story.
I wish to ask you if
I may send for you inspec-
tion a piece of India embroid-
ery and drawn work on
the finest of India muslin
that has been for generations
in one branch of my family.
The fabric is so fine in
workmanship that I was
desired to send it on to
Chicago for Exhibition, but
felt worse to its leaving
my possession, and then have
no intention of parting with
