Mrs Leland Stanford dear Madam
permit me to congratulate you on the
succesful [sic] termination of the suit in the
Supreme Court of the U.S. the Goverment [sic] has
of late been so persistingly prosecuting against
you I have watched the case with a great
deal of interest. I have been particularly
anxious, and very much desired that you might
come out victorious, having been so long
acquainted with Gov Stanford and knowing
of his philanthropic and charitable disposition,
having been so magnanimous in the disposition
of his immense wealth benefiting and blessing so
many of his fellow beings, he being a particular
and warm friend of mine, I felt doubly
anxious in the outcome of your suit in
the courts, please pardon me for thus
trespassing upon your valuable time,
trusting this will find you in the enjoyment of
good health as it leaves me and mine.
Very truly I have the honor of subscribing
myself your Friend,

Lorin Farr
