collection was the pride of his
heart. and many time until midnight to have seen him at
his desk in the writing room
preparing the catalogue and
descriptions, so when it should pass
into the possession of the Museum
it could be easily arranged.
I have thought of you many times
since I saw you, and wished the
time would come when I might have
your hope and faith in the
future; what I would not give
for it but to me it seems such
hope and faith can only come to
one who has lived for many years
very close to God. You have
taught me a spiritual lesson
which I hope to profit by,
The awful experience of this past
four years has crushed my heart.
My hope, and faith, in humanity
is gone. I dread to think of
the future. And cannot forget the
past, so you will understand what
a struggle it will be for me.
I try to remember all you said
for your words were indeed
comforting, and I sincerely hope
that such peace as you enjoy
may some day be mine. I will
trust more to our heavenly father
and try to remember that I
alone can do nothing. I must
look to him for help.
Believe me very sincerely yours,
Annie G. Flint
