Mrs Leland Stanford. Dear Madame.

I hope the Family Group in bronze arrived in perfect order and is on the pedestal which you designed. I should like very much to see it in the position you have placed it but it is so far away I doubt if I shall ever have the pleasure of seeing it. I think the California Senators ought to decide to have a Statue of Senator Stanford placed in the Capitol in Washington His valuable services as a patriot and his Philanthropy have well earned for him this marked honor.

Hoping you are very well. I am. Yours, with high regards.

Larkin G. Mead
