over five weeks taking
the waters twenty six days
in the middle of the cure
I took a rest, and went to
Oberamergau spending the
25th of Aug my birth day seeing
the Passion Play. Ten years
ago we were here. Henry
and I went there together,
Mr. Stanford was taking
the cure here. I was so
overcome by my emotions
at that time it was more pain
to me than pleasure. I was
in a measure prepared this time to
take in its meaning and I am
very thankful I went.
I have lived up strictly to
old Dr. [Dirief's?] orders though
I am now able to walk
five miles a day with ease
and if conditions are favorable
walk seven. I am dieting
strictly but have gained four
pounds. I leave for Paris
to morrow morning stay
over night at Frankfort
the next day go to Metz stay
two days and nights. Jennie
has been there one month
at a branch of the Paris
Sacred Heart Convent. She
has a special sister to care
for her, teach her French
so that she can enter the S.H.
