come and go. I have thought
of you very many times in
that beautiful clear atmos-
phere among the pines and
the beautiful surroundings
of nature, and, had I not
been going away and plan-
ning for it, it would have
been a great delight for me
to have spent a week at
least, having Jennie with
me, that she and Lydia
might become better ac-
quainted, for I want their
friendship to extend in
years to come.
I hope during my
absence you will write
to me occasionally. I
do not ask for letters
[left side]
often, but just let me know how you
are, and give me this evidence of re-
taining me in new affections, even
though far away.
I will write to you occasionally
and let you know my whereabouts
and affections.
