Dr. Jordan Dear friend.
Your communication dated Feb 2nd at hand. I too admire the Japanese cherry trees and have not forgotten that I said to you that I certainly would plant some in the future. You suggest my planting a row of these trees on the south side of the road which leads to the grounds around your house.
I would have no objections to your planting the Japanese Cherry trees on this south side

but I do have some compunctions of conscience about uprooting trees which I planted 3 years ago on the north side.
I expect to be at Palo Alto next Sunday and on Monday I will talk with Mr. Lynch regarding these trees
