This Indenture made the twenty first day of
January in the year of our Lord, one thousand Eight hun-
dred and eighty four (1884) between Rose Anna Kell
(widow) Robert Kell, Andrew Kell and James Kell
of the County of Alameda State of California parties
of the first part and Leland Stanford of the City
and County of San Francisco State of California the
party of the second part. Witnesseth: That the said
parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the
sum of Five Hundred ($500) Dollars Gold Coin
of the United States of America to them in hand paid by
the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof, is
hereby acknowledged. Do by these presents. Grant, bargain
sell, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second
part and to his heirs and assigns forever:

All that certain lot, tract, piece or parcel of land situate
lying and being in Washington Township County of Ala-
meda, State of California known and described as follows
to wit:

Part of the Ranche known as the "Aqua Caliente" bounded on
the North by a line running Twenty (20) Yards from and
parallel to an Arroyo called "El Aguaje del Laurel ", - on
the South by a line Twenty Yards distant and parallel to
an Arroyo called "Arroyo Seco", or "dry creek", - On the East
or upper side by a line drawn from creek to creek commen-
cing at a dead Oak Situated in said Dry Creek and marked
P. C. to a Laurel tree marked P. C., in said "Arroyo Aguaje Laurel"
on the West or lower side, by a line drawn from creek to creek.
Commencing at a dead Oak tree in said Dry Creek and marked
P. C. to an Evergreen Oak in said "Arroyo Aguaje Laurel: the same
being twenty (20) Acres more or less. Hereby also selling and
conveying to said party of the second part, all right, title and
interest of said party of first part in and to the stream of water
and Springs, known as the "Aguaje del Laurel"
