Dr. Governor Your welcome letter of Feb 8th was duly received. I was glad to hear from you and waited anxiously your arrival at [Virginia?]. I was disappointed when Judge Tuttle told me he came in your place. I spent the most of the winter at [Virginia?] and [Carson?] working to have the new County of [Nye?] created and also working for the appointment of County Recorder for [Nye?] County, both of which after considerable time and expense have been accomplished.
