Untitled Page 3Sacramento Aug 10th 1860 Dear Father & Mother Enclosed find D O Mills & Co Draft No 15432 on the American Exchange Bank N.york and payable to the order of Josiah Stanford, for the sum of one thousand dollars. I have delayed writing for some time in order that it might be convenient to remit the enclosed. It is on acct of [?] Stanford. We are all quite well and business is fair. I have not time now to write mutch, but if I had more time I do not know that I could write mutch that would interest. I wish you were settled in this country and I hope the time will come when you will be. I believe it would be better for all.
