something akin to the taste which makes us determine the value of a fine picture. I had the impression that Lucy Cuyler had been relieved from active service and that perhaps her only value was a commercial one as a brood mare. Her mother I regard as one of the very choicest brood mares on my place, except in her age. Her produce has been unfortunate in development but has shown a speed and valuable characteristics equal to the produce of any other.
