Dear Mother and Daddy,

The laundry box has just arrived, and thank you so much for sending it to me. I have packed it with clothes and I will send it back on Monday. I am including in it my black and pink formal. I remember when I boutht it, Margie liked it quite a bit, and if she wants it and can use it, I want her to have it. I still like it very much, but I seem to have so many more formals than she does and she will probably be needing one more than I now, so I wanted to give her one of min. T thought that she would probably like that one better than any of my

others. So if she wants it, I'd love for her to have it; if she doesn't of course I'd like to keep it, because I can still wear it alot.

The whole week practically was spent in studying for my Public Law course. I had a paper due for it on Tuesday and a test on Thursday. I'll enclose the test so you can see what it is like. The papers we have to write are decisions of cases somewhat, like these only they are a little longer and require a more complicated decision. a decision and never know whether it is right or not. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I studied twenty hours. I don't think I've ever studied that much before all at once.

I think I've gotten things with Bob straightened out, but to do it, I thought it best that I tell Johnny he just couldn't come and see me any more. I really didn't like to do it as if I were making a decision between two boys because I don't feel as though I should be put into a situation to do so but the situation was getting rather difficult; so I decided to settle it once and for all.

At first Johnny said he wouldn't think of [quitting?] but he hasn't been over

since; so I guess maybe he has reconsidered. Last Sunday, Bob and I drove to Carmel, we started about one in the afternoon and got back about eight at night. It was a beautiful day and, when we got down there we walked all over the beach and all around the town. Then we ate dinner about five at a place called the Normandy Inn and had the most wonderful dinner I've had in a long time. We had ham with fruit sauce; somehting I've never had before and it was awfully good. Then we took the seventeen mile drive and came back. It was just barely dark by the time we got back. Bob also came down on Thursday because it was Memorial Day and he had a holiday; [I don't?]

understand quite how because we didn't. Anyway we had dinner in Palo Alto which consisted in a sandwich and a shake and then we went to an awful movie. Tonight Bob and Bill are coming down to take Kay and me to see The Vagabond King which is playing now in San Francisco. I am going to wear my navy blue hat - I know he won't like it and either my light blue suit or the navy blue dress.

Sally and Willie have changed their plans again. They are going to be married around the first of September and then they are coming back to school. I think she plans to have a small home wedding, because her mother has
