Dear Mother and Daddy,

I thought it was about time you knew more definitely about my plans for coming home. I had no luck whatsoever with my train reservations, and as things stand now I am going to drive home with Kay and Bill and a friend of Bill's. We will arrive home about nine o'clock; please don't worry about getting me anything to eat. I hope these arrangements are all right with you; they were the best and most convenient I was able to make. I have a date with Jack Carpenter on Friday night and this Jim Miller is going to be down there too and a long time ago I promised him I would go out with him in Los Angeles, if I went home for Thanksgiving so I may be seeing him.

There is nothing to tell about except the big week-end. I suppose it is really useless to tell you how excited we were, not only about winning the "Big-Game" but by winning it with such a score. I went with Bob and Kay and Bill,

and Phyllis Talmage and another med. student. We got started about ten o'clock and arrived at Cal. at about twelve. We parked and ate a lunch Kay and I had fixed. It was a great success, except we had spent seventy-five cents for some potato salad and then ran off and forgot it. After we won the game, we all ran across the field to serenade the Cal. rooting section, and Governor Warren presented our student body president with the Stanford Axe which always goes to the team who wins the "Big Game." I'm sure it was a very impressive ceremony, but I was in such a crowd that I couldn't hear or see a thing. After the game was over we went back to San Francisco to the [Alpha Kappa Kappa?] house to change our clothes and then had a very prolonged dinner at the [Baliliaka?], which is a wonderful

Russian restaurant. In fact I had alomst the best dinner I have ever eaten. There were about sixteen people there and it was really very nice. After that we went back to the [Alpha Kappa Kappa?] house for a little while where a small party was going on.

Sunday I saw Bob for a little while and studied for the rest of the day. Today I practiced four hours and studied the rest of the time. I am going to have a music lesson tomorrow.

I shall be seeing you on Wednesday night, about nine.

Love to all, Mary
