Dear Mother and Daddy,

Nothing really has happened since I last wrote you on Sunday. I have two vast reports due and I have been spending practically all my time reading, One was due last Tuesday for my Comparative Religions course. I read a book called The Perennial Philosophy by Atldous Newby. The theme of the book was that all the basic assumptions of all the religions were the same. It seemed to me to be pretty logical, but other people who were reading the book didn't seem to think so at all. It got awfully deep in spots, but I just had to skip ever that. The other book I have been reading is for my history course, a book about Theodrow Wilson, written by William Allen White. It is just a fascinating book, one of the best I have ever read. The style of writing seems just about perfect. I have to have this one done by next Monday, but I don't think I shall have any trouble because it is one of these books you just can't put down. Of course it will take me about nine hours to write the report, but I'm sure I can get it down, for I'm practically through the book now.

I got my economics test back and was terribly pleased. I got about ten points above the class median which means it is a good B. This ought to pull me out of the hole somewhat. Now all I have to worry about is the final which counts fifty percent of the grade.

Senior breakfast is next Sunday and I all people have to see that everything get written, which is impossible. Nothing is ever written until the morning of Senior Breakfast, but I still have to make an attempt. I call all thse meetigs to discuss it and then send the girls offf in little groups to write something, and their call another meeting to see what is written, but nothing ever is, so I have to send them off again, and nothing is ever done. But then I should talk, I hadn't written a thing. Besides one of the main features of the skit is how good can it be just having fun thrown together the hour before.

I will be coming home two weeks from today on the train. The Senior Ball is on Thursday night. Jack asked me to go today, at which I was slightly

surprised because he had given me the impression that he didn't care to go. Of course I wanted to; its going to be at the Palace Motel in San Francisco and should be a wonderful party; so I am thrilled at the thought of being able to go. My last final is on Wednesday afternoon; so I couldn't possibly have come home before Thursday anyway. This business of coming home brings up a matter, which I would like to leave unsaid, but if I don't I'll never get home. I'm afraid that there isn't enough money in my bank account to cover my expenses home. I really don't need very much, and I would appreciate it if you would put some more money in my account and send me a check book. I'm sorry to have to ask for more, but I had to buy a lot of extra presents this quarter, and I guess that is where all my money went to.

You are probably tired of hearing me talk about going to Washington, but Ruth recieved another letter from her mother in which she said again how glad she was that I might be able to come and

that she would write you as soon as she was able. The evening sent to Paris at the end of June to attend a meeting of a World Labor Conference and she has been so busy with that is the reasonable hasn't written, but I'm sure that she will. She will be back in the middle of July and is having her vacation in September; so that I wouldn't be any terrible went to go so much that I can just training sessions that I can't keep talking about it all the time.

I certainly hope your trip is a successful one, and that you don't get up there and then just rush home, please just take your times, and so everything you are suppposed to.

Love to all,

Mary
